The Four Seasons

The Four Seasons is a series of four violin concerti written by Antonio Vivaldi around 1720 and published in 1725. This is considered to be one of Vivaldi's most known compositions. Each concerto features a musical expression for each season of the year. Unusual for the baroque era, Vivaldi paired each concerto with a poem that matched the season as well. The movements within the concerti follow the fast-slow-fast pattern that Vivaldi helped to make normal.
