Viola Concerto in G Major
The Telemann Violin Concerto in G major was most likely the first viola concerto to be composed. It was written sometime between 1716 and 1721. The concerto was written for solo viola, strings, and continuo. Telemann wrote the piece while he served as city music director in Frankfurt.To this day, it is a popular concerto among violists and non-violists.
